Stained glass suncatchers

These colourful and stylish sun catchers are hand crafted in our Isle of Man studio.
They are produced using the Tiffany method with copper foil and soldered joints.
First of all Richard cuts the pieces of glass from a carefully designed line drawn pattern. Next the glass edges are ground to take away any sharpness and then bound with copper foil. The pieces are then placed back together rather like a jig saw puzzle.
Once fitted together neatly the creation is then ready for soldering and polishing.
The soldered joints and edges provide an extremely attractive and decorative effect and compliment the beautiful colours of the glass.
